Our mission is to contribute to the growth and development of both developing countries and Japan by promoting international cooperation in the ICT sector and assisting the Japanese ICT industry in international business operations.
Since ICT is an indispensable tool in people's lives, JTEC aims to enable as many people as possible in developing countries to enjoy the benefits of ICT.
As a trusted global partner, JTEC plays the role of a bridge between developing countries and Japan to proactively meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders.
JTEC, as a partner, assists the evolution of ICT in developing countries by making good use of its characteristics of being an independent nonprofit organization with an impartial and neutral standpoint.
Message from the President
SAKAMOTO Yasuo
JTEC, a nonprofit organization, was established in 1978, under the Government supervision with the initiatives of telecommunications and broadcasting industry and the financial entities. It became a general incorporated foundation in 2012, and has conducted international cooperation activities for a period of over 40 years.
The mission of JTEC is to promote the development of ICT sector in overseas countries as well as mutual international understanding, and to contribute to the development of Japanese telecommunications industry. JTEC conducts activities for public interest through survey and research, pilot project for ICT Development, training and HRD activities in ICT sector in developing countries. JTEC also provides consulting services for telecommunications-related development projects and other services to assist the overseas ICT businesses of Japanese companies.
In recent years, AI, IoT, 5G and Beyond 5G, has developed remarkably. Making the most of the potential of ICT, JTEC will contribute to realize a global society where "no one left behind", with sustainability, diversity and inclusiveness, by solving global issues represented by SDGs for developing countries.
JTEC will also continue to strive to meet the expectations of the developing countries as well as the ICT industry of Japan.
